If you were to judge me by my appearance, I’m as generic as it gets – but my story is deep. My maternal grandfather was Choctaw and grew up on a reservation in Oklahoma. My paternal grandmother fled Europe due to religious persecution.

My family’s cultural and historical experiences are vast, and they’ve shaped my perspective of the world around me. The modern workforce has many challenges as the range of working-age people have different cultures, ways of communication and perspectives. These things should not limit us, but they do shape us.

It’s critical that we learn about one another so that we can treat one another with respect, compassion and understanding. Our wealth is found in the diversity of our workforce. I want to be part of the conversation that seeks collaborative and enriching solutions for our diverse and valuable workforce.
